Home or gym strength training: which is right for you?

A simple way to choose between home and gym strength training based on equipment, time, environment and consistency. The best training location is usually the one that removes the most friction. Home and gym training can both work; the better choice is the one you can return to when your week is busy.

About the trainer

Home training can be enough

Home training saves travel time and can make short sessions easier to start. Dumbbells and a small amount of space are enough for many structured plans.

A gym can add options

A gym gives you access to more equipment and may help you separate training from home responsibilities. It is useful when variety or heavier loading is important to you.

Choose based on consistency

You do not need to choose the most impressive setting. Choose the setting that makes it easiest to complete the next session, then build from there.
